Seniors Community Grant Program Applications Now Open

February 29, 2024

Applications are now open for the Ontario Seniors Community Grant Program. The seniors grants support local, not-for-profit community groups and organizations to deliver programs and learning opportunities for Ontarians aged 55+.

Every year, the Ontario government provides hundreds of Seniors Community Grants ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 each. This funding allows community groups across the province to offer a wide variety of activities that help seniors to live independently, ensure their safety and security, connect them to their community, avoid isolation and help them achieve greater financial security and social connections.

  • Description: The Seniors Community Grants range from $1,000 to $25,000 and support community organizations in providing opportunities for social inclusion, volunteerism, and engagement for older adults, emphasizing safety.
  • Deadline: Applications must be submitted by Thursday, March 28, at 5:00 p.m. ET.
  • Eligibility: Grants are available for both incorporated organizations (up to $25,000) and individuals representing local unincorporated seniors’ groups (up to $10,000). Projects must involve older adults and align with the ministry’s priorities.
  • Programming: Projects can be delivered remotely, virtually, or in-person.
  • Timeline: Approved projects should begin by June 2024 and conclude by March 31, 2025.
  • Program Guidelines: Detailed guidelines are available in the “Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility, Seniors Community Grants 2024-2025 Program Guidelines.”
  • Contacts: Regional Development Advisors are available for inquiries or project discussions throughout the application period.
